Inspect the source, not the label

Use a trusted media probe to read pixel dimensions, display aspect, frame rate, codec, duration, and relevant color metadata from the original file. Record the command or inspector, timestamp, and asset identifier. Treat 3840×2160 and 4096×2160 as different delivery contexts rather than interchangeable “4K.” A raster measurement confirms dimensions, not native generation, detail quality, or provenance. Keep the prompt, UI label, social caption, and filename as contextual records only; none replaces inspection of the bytes.

Trace transformations and compare detail

Identify whether the source was resized, upscaled, sharpened, denoised, interpolated, composited, cropped, or rendered through another timeline. Compare representative regions at matched framing and sensible display scale, looking for real detail versus invented texture, halos, plastic surfaces, unstable grain, text deformation, flicker, and edge crawl. Watch motion sequences rather than judging thumbnails. If the chain is incomplete, describe the output as a 4K-raster file with unknown source lineage instead of inferring native generation.

Verify the master in its destination

Probe the final encoded file and screen it on the intended playback path. Confirm crop, cadence, color, captions, audio, duration, and compression as well as dimensions. Where a platform re-encodes uploads, inspect the processed playback and record when and where it was checked. Compare defects against the agreed tolerance and retain evidence for the approval. Verify current model and account capabilities separately through authoritative sources; neither the public discussion signal nor a single reviewed output proves ongoing 4K access, quality, or repeatability.
