Diagnose the gap before proposing new frames

Mark the exact in-point and out-point of the editorial problem, the missing duration, the reason the cut fails, and the decision that the added material must support. Distinguish a shot that ends too early from a continuity error, transition problem, unavailable coverage angle, or pacing note; those failures need different remedies. Capture adjacent frames, camera direction, subject action, eyeline, scene geography, sound cue, and any dialogue constraint. Preserve the current approved cut as a reference. The phrase seen in public discussion does not prove that a particular product can extend this source, so the plan must remain valid if the team instead regenerates, inserts coverage, retimes, or revises the sequence.

Write a bounded repair brief

Specify the additional duration as a range, the action that may continue, details that must remain fixed, acceptable camera movement, prohibited inventions, and the frame that should hand back to the existing edit. Name the source asset and reference version rather than relying on a thumbnail. Include identity, wardrobe, props, lighting, background motion, direction of travel, temporal logic, and audio treatment. Set a review budget and a stop rule so repeated attempts do not silently change the creative brief. Confirm current controls, source eligibility, rights, account access, and output behavior through authorized first-party surfaces before any operator commits the repair to a named system.

Accept the repair in context

Review each candidate between the actual neighboring shots at normal speed, muted, and with final audio. Check identity drift, repeated motion, impossible physics, camera discontinuity, edge artifacts, temporal jumps, lip or sound mismatch, and whether the added duration genuinely resolves the editorial note. Compare the repair against simpler options such as a cutaway, hold, speed change, transition, or revised story beat. Record the chosen asset, source lineage, transformations, reviewer, rejected alternatives, and approval timestamp. A technically plausible extension is not automatically the best cut; acceptance depends on the sequence-level task, delivery requirements, and documented human review rather than a product label or social example.
